Gioell Rivera The sad melody but up tempo beat reminds me that life is difficult but that there's no time to be sad. Favorite track: Simple And Clean.

Karl Germanovich Jazz and J-Pop meeting has been a favorite thing of mine since discovering Casiopea and T-Square. J-Music Ensemble brings that energy to the US and fuses it with VGM and Anime and I am HERE FOR IT. Hearing the Perfume arrangement gets me so hype. J-Music Ensemble needs to play MAGfest!! Favorite track: Polyrhythm.

divisionlo Fantastic album by a fantastic ensemble. Perfectly captures the music's original melody while still making it completely different in an incredibly way. The instrumentation is phenomenal, I cannot get enough. Favorite track: GAME.

about

We are the J-MUSIC Ensemble - a jazz-rooted instrumental band with an intense passion for Japanese music, and a dream to show the world what happens when you take two of the greatest forces in music history and fuse them together. The result is an innovative, groundbreaking, and beautiful sound that can't be contained. "Time To Play" is our first step in realizing this dream, with arrangements of some of our favorite songs in the J-Pop universe. Perfume gets a real spotlight here, being the one band that influenced the first major shift in our band's sound since we started in 2013. Also featured are songs from the incomparable sasakure.UK, one of the greatest composers of the modern era - as well as songs that resonated with all of us in our early years, such as Utada Hikaru's "Simple And Clean" from Kingdom Hearts and Yoko Kanno's "The Real Folk Blues" from Cowboy Bebop. Even with this monumental feat, this is still just the beginning. As long as there is Japanese music, there is the J-MUSIC Ensemble. - #jmusicthefuture
